I’m going to tear. I’m going to cry. As I translated the last part, my heart was really squeezing as Yu Hao talked about how his mother had tried to indirectly kill him. And it feels even more real now that I’m translating it into English, because the Chinese version is much more…ambiguous. But that ambiguity couldn’t be fully expressed in English, so my translated version is a little clearer. Just a heads up, this novel has many parts there are ambiguous and requires a lot of inference to understand what the author is trying to say.
This chapter was difficult to translate in a completely different sense from chapter 2………I had to stop in between because of how much my heart was aching.
